Before an enthusiastic crowd of over 600 Monmouth County supporters at the Eagle Oaks Country Club in Farmingdale, Sheriff (and County GOP Chairman) Shaun Golden announced that he, Freeholders Tom Arnone and Serena DiMaso, and Surrogate Rosemarie Peters are all running for reelection in November.
“We don’t need to make Monmouth County great again,” Golden declared with a reference to Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “Monmouth County is great!”
Teamwork and gratitude were the theme of Golden’s remarks to the crowd which filled the the ballroom and two adjoining rooms as he acknowledged his team at the highly accredited Sheriff’s Office of 609 officers and employees and his countywide political partners and supporters.

Golden and Peters are both seeking their third full terms as Sheriff and Surrogate, respectively, as is Arnone, the Director of the Freeholder Board. DiMaso is seeking her second full term after completing the term of Rob Clifton who stepped down from the Freeholder Board after being sworn into the State Assembly.
The candidates are expected to be unopposed when the Monmouth County Republican Committee convenes for its nominating convention on Thursday, February 18 at iPlayAmerica in Freehold.
The incumbent Republicans are expected to be challenged by Marlboro Councilman Jeff Cantor for Sheriff, Vincent Solomeno of Hazlet for Surrogate, Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty and former Farmingdale Councilwoman Carly Immen for the two Freeholder seats on the ballot in November.
